Very rare Iittala bird by Italian designer Giorgio Vigna. The 2007 Vigna collection includes three species: Circoli, Colori and Contrasti. This piece is a Contrasti, big Water blue. Lenght: 22cm Very good condition and sticker.

An Overview of Giorgio Vigna’s Birds from Iittala
Giorgio Vigna (1955–) has designed many modern classics for European companies. Some the most well-known objects are the birds for Iittala. They were designed in 2007 with streamlined forms, colorful glass, and modern expressions.

The birds come in three species: Circoli, Colori, and Contrasti. Each have two sizes and a multitude of color schemes. On the lower side, they are marked with G Vigna and Iittala.

Each Vigna Bird is individually handcrafted by master glassblowers at iittala’s renowned glassworks in Nuutajärvi, Finland. The time-intensive process of forming, cutting, and polishing each bird showcases the skill of these craftsmen.
